Congratulations to ICW freshman Hannah Longmire, last night she ran a new lifetime best of 2:39.37. Though she is one of the best para 800 runners in the country, unfortunately this may be her last race of the season. She so desperately wants to run at the State Championships

So happy for senior Deniz Ince, (the 2018 State Championships Runner-up in the 3000, 1500, 4x800 and 3rd in the 800) she has been accepted into Yale University and made her verbal commitment to run xc and track & field the Bulldogs and Coach Gosztyla in the Ivy League. So proud.

Senior Peyton Steva is your Dickinson Relays Indoor 60 Meter Hurdle Champion. She runs a 🔥 blistering 🔥 8.91 to win the title. Peyton breaks the Iowa City West All-time best record set by Valerie Welch (now running for U of Colorado) in 2017 winning this same meet in 8.99.

It has been a crazy 3 weeks. I want 2 thank Kim Leman & everyone at the U of I Stead Family Children's Hospital. They are some of the nicest people on earth. As some of you know 3 weeks ago Sofia broke her arm. 2 days after xray they called and said they saw something concerning

Iowa City West senior Peyton Steva runs 8.83 to win her 3rd of 3 indoor hurdle races this year. Peyton is the only girl in the state to break the 9.0 barrier in a FAT timed race and she has done it THREE times!!!🥇🥇🥇

The 2018 MVC Athlete of the Year is Iowa City West senior Bailey Nock. For the second straight year Bailey wins the 800 Meters, 1500 Meters and 3000 Meters. Plus tonight she ran the 3000 and 4 x 800 back to back running a 2:25 split to get 2nd. 30 ind. points and 8 relay points.

Iowa City West senior Peyton Steva's historic day @ the Eastern Iowa T&F Festival that included 4 Gold Medals also led her into the Iowa All-time Record Book. Peyton's 14.62 100 Meter Hurdles ranks 16th in the history of Iowa & is the fastest time ever ran on the West High track.

ICW senior Bailey Nock takes 5th in 10:21.87 and junior Deniz Ince in only her second 3000 ever takes 6th place in 10:24.47, 20 seconds off her former lifetime best. Bailey and Deniz were 1st and 2nd in class 4A. They both will be up again tomorrow in the 800 Meters.
